The 2025 "Hua Luogeng Cup" Changzhou Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, which also served as the local selection round for the 13th “Entrepreneurial Jiangsu” Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Competition, successfully concluded with 68 outstanding projects winning awards across multiple categories.
The competition attracted widespread participation from innovative startups and enterprises both domestically and internationally. In the main competition segment, 50 projects received awards, including eight first prizes, 14 second prizes, and 28 third prizes. These projects represented cutting-edge advancements in next-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, and new energy/electric vehicles/energy conservation.
Among the standout winners was Liyang CASOL New Energy Technology, whose project on "Ultra-High Power Density Sulfide All-Solid-State Batteries" claimed a first prize. Headed by Prof. Wu Fan, the team's groundbreaking research has achieved several world-first breakthroughs, including expanding the electrochemical stability window of sulfide solid electrolytes by 12 times through innovative strain stabilization theory and novel material processing techniques. Their work has successfully enabled the application of these electrolytes in high-energy-density batteries.
Another notable participant, Jiangsu Reliance Energy Tech. , secured a third prize for their project on the "Development and Industrialization of High-Rate Earless Cylindrical Lithium-ion Batteries." Since its establishment in Changzhou in 2021, the company has developed multiple full-tab battery cell models, some of which have already entered mass production and commercial supply.
For over a decade, the Changzhou Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has served as a vital platform for nurturing innovative projects, fostering entrepreneurial growth, and connecting startups with essential resources. This year, Changzhou will recommend 58 high-quality projects from the local competition to the provincial “Entrepreneurial Jiangsu” competition, covering key sectors such as information technology, advanced equipment, new materials, biopharmaceuticals, and new energy.
The competition results highlight Changzhou's continued commitment to technological innovation and its growing influence as a hub for entrepreneurial development in the Yangtze River Delta region.
